Leave behind the busy-ness of the modern world this autumn and enjoy a yoga-escape to a beautiful and unspoilt idyll in Andalucia. Located half-way between Seville and Malaga, your home for the weekend is a traditional cortijo on a stunning nature reserve.

Have fun with like-minded people on and off the mat during a long weekend of yoga and mindfulness, workshops, rejuvenating mountain-side walks and plenty of relaxation. Optional activities include hiking, horse-riding and a visit to the stunning village of Ronda, famous for its dramatic escarpments and views, to enjoy a traditional meal and Flamenco show.

Take a dip after your yoga practice at one of five outdoor pools with amazing views of the Sierra. Enjoy a healthy Mediterranean diet of delicious vegetarian meals made from local, organic produce. There will be ample time to rest, read, chat with the teachers and other guests and enjoy the beautiful surrounds of the nature reserve. The schedule is relaxed and casual with every guest welcome to do as much or as little as they like! The atmosphere is welcoming, friendly and suitable for all levels of ability and experience, from those with a regular yoga and meditation practice to those new to yoga.

Your daily yoga practice will gently move the body mindfully through a series of poses. Classes include physical postures, breath work and meditation. The focus is on connecting body, breath and mind to bring the individual a sense of togetherness, calm and present-moment awareness, while moving the body in gentle exercise to enjoy the associated health benefits. Morning classes are more energising to wake body and mind, and afternoon classes more restorative with a focus on relaxation to help you relax, reduce stress and reconnect. There is a strong emphasis on the breath to both calm the nervous system and focus the mind, as well as on the senses to promote awareness. Immersion workshops provide an opportunity to delve deeper into the practice of yoga and to learn new ideas and concepts that you may like to apply to your own practice.

*The allocated group transfer times will be an 11am pick up from Malaga Airport on October 12 and a midday return on October 16 with drop offs at both Malaga Airport and the city for sightseeing for those with later flights.


The Nature Reserve Retreat is located at 11687 El Gastor in the province of Cádiz.
It is approximately 1.5 hours from Malaga, Jerez and Seville airports and a little over 2 hours from Gibraltar. We recommend you to travel through Malaga as we have included the cost of the transfer within the retreat package. Should you wish to make your own way to the retreat you can do so by hire car or by train/bus with local pick up available in El Gastor and Ronda (at an extra charge). A separate transfer itinerary from Malaga, Seville, Jerez or Gibraltar may be organised for groups of four or more travelling together, at no or minimal extra cost.

Bev Alderson

Bev is a qualified yoga, mindfulness and stress management teacher who, through her business Practically Balanced, works with individuals, groups and workplaces who are wanting to take a more positive and proactive approach to wellbeing and in turn achieve greater results and get more out of their day-to-day lives. This is emphasised in her yoga classes where you can expect a flowing physical practice, breath work and relaxation delivered in a practical way and structured for all levels of ability. Bev also trained with Qi Yoga in Sydney followed by Sivananda training in India. She also trained in Mindfulness with the British School of Meditation and in Stress Management with the Centre for Coaching and Counselling in London. She has been teaching yoga since late 2012 and practicing for over 15 years.

Georgie Armour Glasius

Georgie is a qualified yoga teacher who has been practising yoga for 18 years and teaching since late 2012. She trained with highly respected yoga school, Qi Yoga, in Sydney, in the tradition of Viniyoga, which essentially means yoga adapted to every individual, and has since completed further trainings including studying Yoga Therapy. Georgie's approach puts mindfulness at the centre of the yoga practice, guiding students to be more present both on and off the mat, to better understand themselves and to use that knowledge to find more ease and contentment in daily life. She offers a simple and accessible practice that anyone can enjoy and take home with them. Georgie lives and teaches in Cádiz, Spain and is passionate about sharing the beauty of her adopted home with visitors.

Booking terms and conditions

Flights and travel insurance are not included. Any transfers / transport arrangements for times outside of the allocated group transfer must be paid for at own expense. To confirm a place on the retreat, a 20% booking deposit, as well as a signed retreat guest form is to be received. Retreat deposits are non-refundable. Balance of payment is due eight weeks prior to retreat start date; if the balance is not received, the place will be re-advertised, and the deposit retained. If the guest cancels their booking more than eight weeks prior to retreat start date, the booking deposit (20% of price) will be retained. No refunds or compensations will be made for cancellations made within eight weeks of retreat start date, or in the event of arriving late, leaving early, or deciding to not complete the retreat. Bookings are transferrable and may be used by another person if the guest is unable to attend although the organisers retain discretion over suitability of the person taking the place, as all occupants must be comfortable within the same bedroom arrangements booked, and of the same gender if in a shared room with persons they do not know.

If in the rare event the retreat does not meet minimum booking requirements, the organisers reserve the right to cancel the retreat up to a month prior to start date: in this event all deposits / balance of payments will be refunded. The organisers are not liable for covering any partial or full personal expenses incurred such as airline tickets due to itinerary changes or cancellation of retreats.

Travel insurance should be purchased to cover medical expenses in the event you have an accident while on the retreat; the organisers cannot be liable for any accidents or injuries which may occur during your stay. We strongly suggest purchasing travel insurance, with your responsibility to read and understand the cancellation policy above and ensure that you are covered, as exceptions will not be considered for any reason, including illness or injury, personal or family emergencies, weather etc.

All guests are to abide by acceptable retreat noise and behaviour, with no noise in shared areas after 10pm or near bedrooms, to respect the serene retreat setting, other guests, and rural neighbourhood. Check-out is by 11am at the latest, on the day of departure.
