Lucia Yoga Retreat with Elena Sepulveda
23-28 APRIL 2019
Nature, comfort and Yoga in Southern Spain, Andalucia
Give yourself the gift of wellbeing in our nature and hiking yoga retreat where the Parque Natural Sierra de Grazalema rises from quiet rural byways like an apparition, the natural world takes over. Great buttresses of rock silhouetted against the clouds soar above a forested landscape tinged with green even when the rest of Andalucía turns yellow under a baking summer sun. A Unesco Biosphere reserve since 1977, according to BBC Travel, the best place to hike in Andalucia.
Two whitewashed villages serve as gateways to our yoga retreat center. Zahara de la Sierra is one of Andalucía's most striking villages, sashaying up a craggy, castletopped peak in the park's northern reaches. And El Gastor, also known as the Balcony of the Andalusian White Villages, its narrow passes connecting the villages lead over high mountain passes, drawing near to some of Spain's prettiest mountain scenery.
Enjoy beautiful accommodation surrounded by nature. Cool off after a hike in the mountains at our five outdoor pools with views of the sierra. Fresh vegetarian meals will be cooked for you daily. You can savour local organic produce in delicious Mediterranean dishes. You will practice a variety of Yoga styles with different instructors immersed in the peace of nature.
If you´re looking for a mountain and yoga vacation, this is the place for you!

GUEST YOGA INSTRUCTOR
Elena has a passion for the quieter spiritual practices, such as Yin yoga and Vipassana meditation, which invite us to acknowledge our inner vulnerability so our strengths can be revealed. However, she also enjoys the challenges and opportunities for growing available to us through the more active type of practices, like Vinyasa yoga.____________________________________________________________________
In her own words...
"For me yoga is a friendly invitation to explore our true nature. It offers us an opportunity to creatively face life's challenges and to bring harmony into the world we live in and shape with our actions. I feel that each asana, each breath, each moment of mindfulness has in itself the potential for transformation.
Yoga showed up in my life (to stay!) more than 25 years ago. Since I'm of a curious nature, over the years, I’ve enjoyed exploring different yoga traditions: the precision of Iyengar, the fluidity of Scaravelli, the magic of Kundalini, the playfulness of Acroyoga… Since 2011 I have been dedicated to the practice and teaching of Vinyasa and Yin yoga.
After living for almost 20 years in England, I spent a brief period in the mountains in my native Andalusia and arrived in Barcelona in 2006, where I found my home and beautiful people I can grow with.
I started teaching yoga in 2008 after becoming a Hatha teacher certified by the Montevideo Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre. In 2010 I completed a Vinyasa Teacher Training course with David Lurey and Mirjam Wagner in Brazil. More recently I trained in Yin yoga with Jose de Groot (Yin yoga & Anatomy) in Barcelona and with Sarah Powers (Yin/Yang yoga & Mindfulness Meditation; Inner Practices) in France/London. Academically qualified as an anthropologist/archaeologist and translator, I currently combine yoga teaching and Chavutti Thirumal treatments with my editorial project Yogagenda and my work as a translator.
In my Yin and Yang yoga sessions I seek to create a safe environment where we can open to our vulnerability so, from there, we can discover our strengths. We live in very demanding societies that are taxing to our systems and create unbalance in our lives at different levels. Yoga aims to counterbalance this tendency: It encourages us to live in a happy body, with a tranquil heart and a clear mind."www.elenasepulveda.com https://www.facebook.com/elenayogachavutti/ https://www.instagram.com/elena_yoga_chavutti/
