The Lucia Yoga Retreat Center is a charming and newly renovated Spanish house in Caparacena, a quiet little town in the countryside.
It’s close to Sierra Elvira, surrounded by olive trees and large green spaces, the perfect place to go walk or hike.
The Natural Park of Sierra Nevada is 1 hour driving from there.
The beautiful lake named Cubillas Natural Reservoir is right on the doorstep.
Sierra Nevada and the beautiful coast of Costa Tropical are an hour’s journey.
In half an hour you reach Granada city (30 min for the center, Granada is closer 10min), and the famous Alhambra Palace.

Sunday 4 september: Arrival day
- From 14:00 onwards you can arrive and check in your room
- 18:00: Welcoming and explanation of the retreat

Monday to Friday:
- 6h30 – 9h30: Hatha Yoga class (asanas), Relaxation, Breathing exercises (Pranayama), Guided Meditation
- 9h30 – 10h30: Breakfast and break
- 10h30 – 12h00: Workshops on Yoga Philosophy, Healthy food and lifestyle.
- 13h00: Lunch and leisure time.
- 17h30 – 19h30: Hatha Yoga class (asanas), Relaxation, Breathing exercises (Pranayama), Guided Meditation.
- 19h30: Diner

Saturday 10 september:
- 6h30 – 9h30: Hatha Yoga class (asanas), Relaxation, Breathing exercises (Pranayama), Guided Meditation.
- 9h30 – 12h00: Breakfast and check out.
- 12h00 – 13h00: Ending ceremony.
- 13h00: Lunch.

There is a direct bus from Malaga Airport to Granada. The bus stop is located at the T3 arrivals, Forecourt Road, opposite to the transportation hub. The connections to Granada depart from the airport at 10:45, 11:00, 11:30, 16:00, 18:30 and 20:45, with a journey of 2 hours 30 minutes. The fare is €12 single or €23 return.

The busses from Granada to the airport depart at 13:15, 16:00 and 18:30.

You can take a taxi from Granada to Caparacena. There are no fixed prices; it will depend on the taximeter. On average, you can expect a fare of 30-35 euros. *(Be careful of taxis without the taximeter as you may be overcharged.)

You can rent a car for the whole period of your retreat. It can be cheaper than taxis, and will allow you to visit many places during your leisure time. There is a good network of roads connecting the centre to nearest airports and other important points in the region. On your arrival, you can consult different companies in the airport:

Are activities included in the yoga retreat? Activities are paid separate, this way you can choose the ones you prefer. Once you arrive, we'll reserve your favorite activities for you.

How can I get to the yoga retreat? The best option might be to rent a car from the airport for your entire stay. It´s cheaper than taking a taxi for every activity you want to do outside the retreat.

I need a special diet, can you provide it? Of course! As long as you let us know before your arrival, we can prepare the diet you need. For example, if you are gluten intolerant, vegan, or you have any other special diet needs.

Are cancellations allowed? You can cancel your reservation up to 60 days before the retreat. If you cancel after the allotted time period you'll lose the deposit or you can transfer it to another guest.

What should I bring? Bring comfortable clothing for practicing yoga, a swimsuit, beach towel, sunscreen, and a yoga mat although we provide all yoga materials.

About Ilse De Pauw

Yoga Alliance Certified E-RYT 200 hrs Yoga teacher / 200 hrs Yoga and community living teacher / Shiatsu massage therapist / Traditional Chinese Medicine student / Healthy food and lifestyle lover

Ilse started practising yoga ten years ago. Her very first yoga class was a profound experience. The yoga postures and communal vibe in the class evoked a broad range of emotions, and after class she felt touched and liberated. She avidly continued practising yoga in Belgium for five more years, until she felt the need to expand her knowledge and understanding of Yoga Philosophy, Meditation and Breathing Techniques (Pranayama). So she traveled to India, the cradle of yoga, and had her first Yoga Alliance Teacher Training course in the South of India. After that she practised and taught yoga wherever her travels would take her for a number of years, before she took another Yoga and Community-Living Teacher Training Course in Mexico.

In 2011 Ilse became a graduated Shiatsu Therapist. Shiatsu is a form of massage which, much like acupuncture, stimulates and regulates the body’s vital energy. The receiver becomes aware of the inseparability of body and mind, and of areas of tension or weakness both on a physical and emotional level. Through this process of awareness healing occurs. During the yoga retreat’s spare time, one can choose to receive a shiatsu treatment (not included in the price of the yoga retreat).

Ilse is also passionate about healthy living and healthy food. As a vegetarian food lover and well-informed food and cooking devotee, she will also include tips on health and food during the retreat.
