I had never heard of reiki when someone suggested that I try it out. I was in a lot of pain due to severe endometriosis, and doctors were pushing me towards invasive (and as I found out later) unnecessary surgery. I knew in my heart there was an alternative option, so I made my first reiki appointment.
I experienced my first reiki treatment with a gifted healer who would later become my teacher of all things energy and other-worldly related. The session was more powerful than I could have possibly imagined. The soothing sensation lightened the load I had been carrying since my diagnosis, and possibly since childhood. Tears of release offered me something far more than hope.
“Reiki gently removes what no longer serves you.”
Reiki is a Japanese healing technique that means, “universally-guided energy”. During a session, the practitioner lays their hands on or above areas of the client’s body to transmit energetic healing.
Reiki heals on a physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual level. It can help with chronic pain, depression, anxiety, aid in insomnia, and boost your immune system. This modality can be administered to humans, animals, plants, water, and food.
During my session, I connected fully to my spirit. Afterwards, I sought opinions from different doctors and asked important questions. I was confident that everything would work out for the best. Ten years later, my endometriosis is under control without surgery. My body is vibrant and well!
A yoga and reiki retreat is a vacation like no other. Outside of your normal routine, away from distractions, you experience full relaxation and rejuvenation. You immerse yourself in your yoga practice, nourish your body with healthy meals, and connect to other attendees on a soul level.
I have been blessed to host and teach at several yoga retreats. At each, I offered group reiki workshops and private sessions. Offering this alternative modality gave everyone (including those who did not know much about it) something extra, beyond their yoga classes.
Here is how reiki may serve you at our yoga yoga and reiki retreat:
Think of reiki as your one of your best friends who is a great listener and with whom you share your deepest secrets. Your friend’s healing energy is gentle, yet powerful, and goes where it is needed. You may receive an answer or a nudge into a new direction that you were not expecting. Whether it is a loss of a loved one or a relationship, a recent job offer, or move to a new location, reiki eases all into harmony with grace.
Traditional rules of time and space don’t always apply in energy healing. Reiki can present the tools needed to repair past hurt. It can assist you in forgiving, and help you move forward with confidence. The present time is all we truly have, and reiki guides you to engage fully in this very moment. If there is concern about the future, distance healing can be sent to improve upcoming events.
A reassuring massage for the soul. A warm shower of unconditional love and healing light. When we rest, we can be our best! In a yoga and reiki retreat, the Reiki offers deep relaxation and can help rid the body and mind of stress and worry. When we surrender to relaxation, the mind becomes calm and thoughts are crystal clear.
Spending time in nature during our yoga and reiki retreat will release the chatter of the mind. Reiki can get your creative juices flowing, and bring about fresh and exciting concepts. The subtle energy helps to seal ideas, and offer ways to bring them to fruition. Reiki came to me during a very stressful time, and later brought about a transformation that encouraged me to dedicate my life to helping others. I have witnessed it guide people into the best versions of themselves.
It is my pleasure to fuse this modality into my upcoming Yoga and Reiki Retreat in Andalucia, Spain November 13th-19th, 2016. We will experience harmony through vinyasa yoga classes, guided meditation, and special reiki workshops with hands-on healing sessions.
